Literature Text

My world was a gray-scale
I was left for dead
My heart was gone
I hurt more than I was worth

You came by, a light in my darkness
Promises glittering down from you
All showing hope and love
Every one showering down on my heart

You walked me through a year or two
You held my hand, protecting me
Shielding me from my enemies
My light in the dark.

I'd wake in a terror
Only to find you by my side
And your light kiss on my forehead...
It'd chase the nightmares away.

Laying with you above me
You traced a line on my ring finger
You promised forever
You made my heart soar

Your past came hurtling back
She flaunted lust your way
And you listened to her call
Leaving me behind in the dust

Despite my attempts, my stubbornness,
You walked away with her
You gave the love you promised me
All to her, as if in a dream.

Your cold shoulder, once warm and loving,
Turned it's icy blast on me
Trapping me in a corner with no where to go,
Forcing me to watch in terror.

And you left.
Along with the light that you had brought with you.
And as your light faded, my anger flared bright,
But you didn't heed my hate.
ex-boyfriend. 'Nough said.
